nsyilxcen Journey

The nsyilxcen/syilx/Okanagan Language is close to my heart. In all that I do with people I implement nysilxcen where ever I can in all aspect of the gifts I share. I am not a fluent speaker however I do have the skills to read, write and learn nsyilxcen without English. I have been mentored and well supported by syilx artists, elders, leadership, and fellow syilx nation members. In the beginning learning nsyilxcen was really difficult, at that time I didn't know what my learning style was just yet. I thrive with nsyilxcen through song and hands on seasonal activities. With persistence, patience and language speaking environments I feel confident in speaking my language in public settings. Most often I implement more common and introductory nsyilxcen phrases with activities I share with people of all ages and walks of life.
